The International House of Pancakes, otherwise known as IHOP, has officially changed their name from IHOP to IHOb and we now know what the "b" stands for!

The company announced the name change last week but didn't reveal what the "b" stood for. It left many speculating what it could be. IHOP has been famously known for pancakes, hence the "P" in their name. However, since they have changed their name to IHOb, what could the company be known for that started with a "b"??

Now, I have been thinking about what the "b" might stand for, and I have come up with a few ideas.

  • Breakfast
  • Brunch
  • Bacon
  • Biscuits
  • Burgers
  • Beer (that's a long shot, but maybe they will start serving beer)
  • Buffets (could you imagine an all you can eat pancake breakfast buffet?!)

Those were pretty good guesses considering one of those was actually correct. Earlier today, June 11th, 2018, IHOb officially announced that it will now be known as the International House of BURGERS!

In case you were wondering, their pancakes aren't going anywhere. You will still be able to order them from the menu. With this new name change, they have added a whole slew of Steakburgers, made with All-Natural, 100% USDA Choice Black Angus Beef. You can see IHOb's new burger menu here.

It's still unclear if this name change is permanent name change or just a temporary thing to promote the new line of burgers. Either way, it has caused quite a bit of controversy on social media. Some are cool with the name changes, others...not so much.
