Dinner is no longer something that happens around the table with the family where the only distraction is the clinking sound of the silverware hitting the plate. Now we eat in front of the television, in a bar or a restaurant where the portions are generally larger than needed. According to a new study, all you have to do to lose two pounds a month is use a smaller plate and don't eat in fron of the television. Dr. Brian Wansink says, " Our homes are filled with hidden traps. Most of us have too much chaos going on in our lives to consciously focus on every bite we eat, and then ask ourselves if we're full. The secret is to change your environment so it works for you rather than against you. These strategies are far more likely to succeed than willpower alone." Dr. Wansink said in the study, people lost up to 2lb a month simply by using salad plates instead of dinner plates, keeping unhealthy foods out of sight and not eating in front of the TV. Who Knew it was that easy!!
