In today's world of everything being at our fingertips, waiting for something seems almost ridiculous anymore, doesn't it? The same is true for our favorite snack, popcorn. Ready-made popcorn is seeing huge sales figures in the U.S. lately, actually outpacing microwave popcorn. Apparently waiting the three minutes we have to wait for it to pop in the microwave has become too much work.

According to recent figures, sales of microwave popcorn have grown by 0.84%, but is still on top with more than $899.8 million in sales, while already popped popcorn has grown by almost 12% to $671.6 million in sales during the same period..

Collen Bailey, Brand Director at Orville Redenbacher says, "Microwave popcorn was all about convenience, having only to wait three minutes to get warm, delicious popcorn. As times changed, the definition of convenience has changed." Ya think!!

Another analyst went as far to say that already popped popcorn is so popular because, "You don't have to take the extra step of opening the box, opening the wrapper, and hoping you have the skill to watch it so you don't ruin it." I know, what a pain the a%#.

If microwave popcorn has become too much work, we won't even discuss what a pain the but nachos can be...I mean who has time to melt Cheese-whiz...hello!
