Hoosiers continue to earn less money than most of the country, as a new report shows that median household income across the state of Indiana is nearly 10-percent less than the national average.

According to recent statistics by the Census Bureau, the median household income for Americans in 2012 was $51,000. However, here in Indiana, the median income level was just $46,700.

Sadly, recent reports indicate that the median income has been dropping in Indiana since 2000, making “the lost decade for Hoosier families” the fourth largest decline in the country, according to the Indiana Community Action Association.
