Help Mater Dei and Reitz Score New Jersey’s in Online Rivalry Poll

Athletic wear company, Addix Gear is looking to hook both the Mater Dei and Reitz football teams up with new jersey's, but they need our help to do it.

Rivalries is one of the many things that makes sports great. From the players to the fans, the rivalry game is one of the most important of any season. While we have several great rivalries here in the Tri-State, none may be any more fierce than Mater Dei and Reitz. It has everything. It's a fight for west side domination, it's public school vs private school, and in many cases it's literally neighbor versus neighbor, or in some cases family versus family.

Now I'll admit, as a Mater Dei grad, I'm totally biased when it comes to this rivalry. But ask any fan on either side what the biggest football game of the year is, and they'll tell you it's the one where these two schools face off. Still not convinced? Show up at the Reitz Bowl for the final game of the season. There you'll see 10,000 to 12,000 rabid fans going absolutely bonkers for two to three hours trying to will their team to victory. If that doesn't get the hairs on the back of neck to stand up, then you are dead inside.

The rivalry is up against another around the South Bend area between the Plymouth High School Rockies and the Concord Minutemen in the Addix Gear Twitter poll. To vote, simply select "Reitz vs. Mater Dei" in the tweet below. If for some reason you're not seeing the tweet, vote on the official Addix Gear Twitter page. But do it soon, as the poll closes at 10:00 p.m. tonight (Friday, May 26th, 2017).

The winning rivalry will get brand new jersey's for both teams from Addix that look pretty sharp based on these mock-ups.
