Monday, November 25th, marks a very special day in the life of one area resident. Rosalind Robinson will be moving into her home. While most of us hate the very idea of packing and moving, she couldn't be happier. This holiday season, Ms. Robinson will be warm and toasty in her adorable two-bedroom home courtesy of a very generous man, an organization dedicated to providing quality housing and the combined efforts of the community. It wasn't without a great deal of "sweat equity" on anyone's part though.

Habitat for Humanity of Evansville unveiled its first two-bedroom design this past weekend in the Margybeth community. Last year, local accountant Steve Titzer retired from Harding Shymanski. Instead of a retirement party or gifts, Steve decided to celebrate in another way - he asked his friends and co-workers to help him sponsor a Habitat home. The team raised the funds for Ms. Robinson's home and the ground breaking occurred on August 2, 2013.

Rosalind Robinson, a recent Accounting graduate, has lived in the Evansville most of her life. Though she had no previous construction experience, she put over 300 hours of construction work into her home and other Habitat homes to make her dream a reality. "I want to reiterate how thankful I am for Steve Titzer and all that Habitat stands for. Because of them, I have affordable housing."

Congrats to Ms. Robinson and Mr. Titzer. For more information on how you can help sponsor a home or provide sweat equity, contact Habitat for Humanity.
