Guns & Hoses This Saturday Night At The Ford Center

The Guns & Hoses charity boxing match returns to the Ford Center this Saturday night at 7pm. Tickets are on sale now at all ticketmaster outlets. This year’s event marks the 5th year for Guns & Hoses with the series tied at two wins each. The event is put on by ’911 Gives Hope’, a local charity made up of area police officers and fire fighters and all of the proceeds benefit children in the greater Evansville area and has done so since 2008.
Guns & Hoses has grown tremendously over the years and gets bigger and better every year. After the first G&H in 2008, 911 Gives Hope distributed right around $15,000 to area’s children’s organizations. Last year, they distributed more than $125,000 and this year promises to raise even more.
911 Gives Hope does many events during the year like the annual 911 Gives Hope for the Holidays Toy Drive which has collected thousands of toys over the last few years that are donated to the area hospitals and the Evansville Ronald McDonald House. The charity is willing to help with just about anything with only one condition…..the beneficiaries have to be children.

Toby Keith Heads Home to Oklahoma, Surveys Damage From Deadly Tornado
Toby Keith only recently got back into the United States after his latest USO tour, and was actually in Moore, Oklahoma right before the deadly tornado struck on Monday (May 20), but left for Nashville to record new music just hours before it touched down. When he heard about the wreckage and devastation the storm caused, he returned to his hometown the next day, ready to help and assess the damage.

Tri-State Gives Moore Mediathon Raises $26,000 For Red Cross

Wednesday from 6am-6pm, all the media outlets pooled their efforts to raise funds for victims of the Moore, OK tornado victims and with the help of Tri-State donors, we were able to raise $26,016 just in phone-in donations.
