A midnight showing of the new Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises" turned tragic when a gunman opened fire killing 14 and injuring more than 50 others near Denver early this morning. The shooting occurred at the Century 16 Theater in Aurora, Colorado. According to police chief Dan Oates, a gunman stood in front of one of theaters and opened fire.

Witnesses also said the shooter "Released some sort of canister. They heard a hissing sound and some gas emerged and the gunman opened fire.”

One suspect is in custody and the motive for the attack is unknown. There is no evidence that there were additional shooters. This is a developing story.
