This past Memorial day weekend, I was able to go and spend a couple days at Kentucky Lake, I had a blast! But I learned the hard way that applying sunscreen is very important. Equally as important as actually applying the sunscreen, is having it applied correctly.  That was a key point I missed...

Whether it's taking the boat for a spin on the Ohio, or cruising down to Kentucky Lake for the weekend, there's no doubt that boating is a blast! Not to mention, the scenery is just beautiful, I mean look at this!

But with being on a boat, also means being out in the sun.  The sun a lot of times means sunburns.   At first i thought "nah I'm good" but then about an hour in I thought "okay I'm  a little pink, I should probably put on sunscreen"  haha so I did get some sunscreen on and had my fiance' help me apply it to the top of my back.  He applied sunscreen around the clock from the time we started on the lake, he did not get burnt.  I applied sunscreen around the clock after I had already started to burn (BIG mistake), and I had him help me with the top of my back.

Look at this picture notice anything?

It's kind of hard to tell, because the sunburn has faded a considerable amount since Sunday, but the left side clearly just had no sun protection at all, but the right side, notice the streaks?  hahaha! Thanks a lot Sam... I have an uneven sunburn, and a big white streak on one side haha! While it hurts a lot, it is pretty comical.  And YES I learned my lesson.  Just start out your day with sunscreen, it's much easier haha
