There's a story being shared on Facebook about a 19 year old girl who walked out of her high school graduation.  She didn't cause a scene, she just got up, got her diploma, and then just walked on out.

She has a dream of working in the medical field, and her Junior year of high school she began taking online high school classes and studied at the career and tech institute to be a nursing assistant.  So while she did walk in the graduation ceremony, she said she didn't have many friends, or know many people there because of how she worked on her own.

She said that by walking out, she wasn't intending to be disrespectful, she just wanted to leave early so she could go and celebrate with her family.

Here's my opinion, was she intentionally disrespectful?  No.  But do I think the act of walking out was disrespectful?  Yes.  You aren't required to walk at graduation, so if you didn't want to waste the time, then don't walk.

I know she didn't mean to come off as disrespectful, but it did.  Nobody wants to sit through graduation ceremonies, they are typically not the most eventful things in the world.  However out of respect for the other graduates you should stay.  It's their day too. If everyone and their families left after they walked, could you imagine how sad it'd be to be that last person?  Just sayin'!
