Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites are usually used by people who have little or no face-to-face interaction with each other. But a new social network called Nextdoor is hoping to change that.

According tο a 2010 Pew Research Center survey, 28 percent of us don’t know any of our neighbors, so Nextdoor seeks to “help neighbors connect and communicate online about important information, services, and goings-on in their specific communities.”
