30 years ago, Gaylord Opryland was just the Opryland Hotel, with a few thousand Christmas lights dressing up the facility in time for the holidays.  Now, Gaylord Opryland Resort is one of the prime holiday destinations in the country.  I had a chance to visit last week for the festivities.

Once again, the resort is filled with over 2 million lights that they begin to put up in July!

Kids can enjoy the fun of Dreamworks with the characters of Shrek, Kung Foo Panda, and Madagascar!

I, not only got to interview the Radio City Rockettes, but I got to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular for the first time in 4 years.  It's amazing how such a great show has stood the test of time.  For 90 years now, the Rockettes have been putting on the show, and it still feels relevant to this day.  Many of the same numbers are in today's show, and they've made a few changes to make the show fit the 21st century.  In the new show, there is a scene where you get to watch Santa Claus fly to New York with the help of your 3D glasses.  One thing is for sure, these ladies are phenomenal  athletes performing up to 4 shows a day at the Grand Ole Opry House.

The other feature that is a must at Country Christmas is ICE, featuring 'Frosty The Snowman.'  Chinese artisans carve the classic TV story out of 2 million pounds of ice.  You walk through and experience the story in a chilly 8 degrees.  Check out my pictures from my visit to ICE.
