Garth Brooks Turns 50 – Eric’s Top 50 Garth Songs

There is no doubt in my mind, the reason that I’m in the business I am is Garth Brooks.  On the first Friday in May 1992, I bought the “Ropin’ The Wind” album and my life would never be the same. Until then, I listened to the average pop music of the day.  If you guessed correctly on my ‘Two Truths and A Lie’ quiz, then you know how bad my taste in music was.  After I heard the song, ‘Rodeo,’ I really heard something in country music I had never heard before.  From then on, I was hooked on country.  I wasn’t just a fan, but it made me want to be immersed as far as possible into the genre.  Fast forward past the line dancing, wearing a cowboy hat to prom, going to every concert that came to town, and singing country karaoke til the wee hours of the night, now I’m as immersed in country music as I could be.  The only thing I haven’t done is meet the man himself…and THAT WILL HAPPEN!  I know it will.  As a young kid, I used to make my own top 10 lists, completely made up of Garth Brooks songs and they would change every month.  So, let’s take a trip back to those times as we celebrate Garth Brooks’s 50th Brithday.  I present my personal Top 50 Garth Brooks songs of all time!
