Oh come on Florida Georgia Line, you guys aren't really THAT dumb are you?!  I've always enjoyed FGL and their music, but I have to say this really makes me mad!

*****UPDATE******

Big thanks to the WKDQ listeners who alerted me to this statement FGL made on their facebook page.  Reading through the comments some still back what the Sheriff reported, but Here's FGL's statement on the issue at hand.

According to TMZ this all took place at a concert this weekend in Iowa.  According to Jones County Sheriff Greg Graver, he was going backstage to discuss security protocol with the band, when a crew member stopped him and said that "no uniformed officers are allowed backstage."  Apparently this was all "per the band" meaning the crew member was told that by Florida Georgia Line.  The Sheriff also said he was told FGL would cancel the concert if they saw any cops.

I guess Sheriff Graver is good at being sneaky, because FGL never saw him, and ended up performing.  About midway through the performance the Sheriff was told FGL wanted a police escort after the show.  Sheriff Graver refused the service saying he "wouldn't spend one tax dollar assisting them."

Apparently FGL's management started scrambling to find a law enforcement agency to escort the band out of town, but they all declined the offer, and FGL ended up leaving on their own.

Way to stand together law enforcement! If they want to disrespect uniformed officers, then they certainly are capable of leaving town without a police escort.  Apparently a similar incident was reported in Wisconsin last week.

No comment from FGL on this issue but recently they tweeted "nothing but love and respect for the police."

Sounds to me like FGL needs to learn some respect for our friends in blue.  If you want to disrespect local law enforcement then you most certainly don't need their help.
