Florida Georgia Line Plan to Go Skydiving if Hit Single ‘Cruise’ Tops the Charts

With their debut single, ‘Cruise,’ flying up the charts and nearing platinum for digital downloads sold, it wouldn’t be too far fetched to assume that Florida Georgia Line‘s Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard are on their way to a career first: a No. 1 hit.
But what will they do to celebrate if it hits the top?
“We know exactly what we’re going to do,” Kelley tells Taste of Country with a grin. “I just won’t forward this along to my parents…”
“Weâre going to go skydiving,” Hubbard reveals. “We made a promise that we would do that when it goes No. 1.”
“Our manager is going to go, too,” adds Kelley. “He doesnât know this yet, but heâs going. We will make him.”
‘Cruise’ — which Florida Georgia Line co-wrote with their producer Joey Moi and Chase and Jesse Rice — hit radio earlier this year and was certified gold in October. Now, just a little over a month later, the single is inching closer and closer to reaching over one million digital downloads sold. Not bad for a first release out of the chute, right?
“Itâs stupid-crazy-unbelievable to think that almost a million people have bought âCruise,â” Kelley says, smiling and shaking his head. “Itâs something that you dream of⦠getting that plaque and having that many fans who believe in what youâre doing and where you want to go with your music. Itâs humbling, too. We were just talking about that the other day⦠I mean, wow!”
“I thought it was wild to get a gold plaque, and now weâre about to get a platinum plaque,” adds Hubbard. “I remember BK saying a long time ago, âI think âCruiseâ will sell a million records!â I was like, âWhat, dude?! We canât even sell 500 copies of our CD right now!â So wow — he was right. He nailed it! Itâs cool to watch it grow.”
Fans can get their hands on the Florida Georgia Line’s first full-length album, ‘Here’s to the Good Times,’ when it hits stores on December 4.
