Florida Georgia Line and Bebe Rexha joined forces onstage at the 2018 CMA Awards to perform a lovely rearranged take on their record-breaking hit "Meant to Be." The cross-genre single has spent a record-setting 49 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart as of the chart week dated Nov. 10.

FGL stepped onstage wearing simple, crisp suits in shades of cream and white to sing their opening verse. The pair were together alone on a small stage, a simple way to introduce things.

As Rexha's vocal part geared up to enter, another stage opened up to reveal her looking like a glamorous '40s starlet, with her blonde hair pinned back and a black dress overlaid with a sheer overlay full of sequins.

The performance remained stripped-down and gorgeous, thanks to a delicate string section and subtle piano--a backdrop which allowed the trio to emphasize the song's harmonies. Rexha trilled a high note at the end, drawing approving applause from the crowd.

"Meant to Be" beat out the Hot Country Songs chart record set by Sam Hunt's 2017 hit "Body Like a Back Road." The song is nominated for both Musical Event of the Year and Single of the Year at the 2018 CMA Awards. Additionally, FGL are nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year.
