Heavy rains over the past two days have caused flood waters to close several roads in Southern Vanderburgh County.

The Evansville Courier-Press, relaying information from County officials, is reporting the following roads are shut down due to high water:

  • Seminary from Bayou Creek to Old Henderson Road
  • Happe Road from Duesner Road to Old Henderson Road
  • King Road from Old Henderson Road to Happe Road
  • Hickory Ridge Road from Old Henderson Road to Happe Road
  • Golden Rule Road from Old Henderson Road to Seminary Road
  • Waterworks Road from Veteran’s Memorial Parkway to U.S. 41
  • Lyle Road from Nurrenburn Road to Bayou Creek Road
  • West Franklin Road from Smith Diamond to Seminary Road
  • Roth Road from Seminary Road to Cypress Dale Road
  • Shore Road from Roth to Dead End
  • Cypress Dale Road from Seminary Road to West Franklin Road
  • South Weinbach Avenue from Levee to River Road
  • Newman Road from Hickory Ridge Road to Old Henderson Road

  • KY 812/Airline Road between mile marker 3 to 5

Hancock County

  • KY 2181 at mile marker 4 to 5

Hopkins County

  • KY 502 mile marker 4 to 5

Muhlenberg County

  • KY 1379 is from mile marker 0 to 3

Ohio County

  • KY 54 has water on the roadway between the 3 and 4 mile marker.
  • KY 2270 between mile marker 2 to 3

Union County

  • US 60 between mile marker 24-25.3 near the Union-Henderson County Line
  • KY 492 between mile marker 9.6-10.2
  • KY 141 between mile marker 17-17.6
  • KY 760 is CLOSED at the 1.9-2.595 mile point

Webster County

  • KY 138 CLOSED at 10.4 to 10.7mm
  • KY 270 CLOSED at 7 to 8 mm
  • KY 132 CLOSED at 10 to 13mm
  • KY 2837 CLOSED at 2 to 3mm

Over two inches of rainfall has been reported since Sunday at Evansville Regional Airport causing flash flooding in many areas and rising river levels. Remember, if you come to a spot where flood waters are crossing the road, do not attempt to drive through them.

Fortunately, the forecast calls for dry conditions the rest of this week into the New Year.
