Some people don't like cover songs.  I do.  A good cover can be more enjoyable than the original.  There have been a ton of covers that killed it on the charts, like Alison Krauss' version of Keith Whitley's "When You Say Nothing At All" or Darius Rucker's take on Old Crow Medicine Show's "Wagon Wheel."  Here are some tunes, I think should be brought to country music from other genre's to become a hit!

Bruno Mars - When I Was Your Man

This was the song that inspired this blog to begin with.  After hearing Thomas Rhett and Dylan Scott cover it, I believe it needs to be brought to country radio as a single.

Here are their versions

Backstreet Boys - I Want It That Way

This idea came from a late night of doing karaoke in Memphis a couple weeks ago.  You laugh...but you know all the words, don't lie.  Maybe an act like Dan + Shay could tackle this one.  If you're lucky I may share the video of that karaoke performance some day!

Nelson - (I Can't Live Without) Your Love And Affection

These dudes actually tried to do country at one time.  That may not have worked, but why not a cover of this tune?  I'm thinking Parmalee or Eli Young Band!

DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince - Summertime

There's only one dude who can do this, and that's Jake Owen.  It would mix perfectly with his hit, "Beachin'," plus he's been known to break out the Fresh Prince theme in concert from time to time!

Journey - Faithfully

It's hard to touch the amazing vocals of Steve Perry.  Collin Raye once covered 'Open Arms,' but I think this one might have to go to Rascal Flatts!
