The holidays are a time for spending time with family and friends, and recognizing how blessed you are for the ability to do that. Unfortunately, many in the Tri-State don't have has many blessings, if any, to count. For those, the Salvation Army is once again stepping up to give them an opportunity to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal while also providing the sense of family they otherwise might not have.

The meal service begins at Noon this Sunday (November 18th, 2018) at the Evansville Salvation Army at 1040 Fulton Avenue, and is open to "all those in need of food, shelter and a sense of family," according to a press release provided by the organization. After serving over 400 residents last year, the organization anticipates serving nearly 500 this year.

If you would like to help, they are accepting volunteers to help serve food and perform other tasks during the meal. They are also accepting monetary donations to help cover the cost.
