Enjoy a delicious shish kabob picnic in the park at the corner of 4th and Main Streets this Thursday and help the Evansville Police Department (EPD) help one of their own.

Detective Nathan Schroer is currently battling leukemia for the second time in less than 10 years. A Detective assigned to Holly’s House, Nathan has helped countless victims of domestic and sexual violence. He also serves as an associate and interim Pastor at NorthWoods Church on Evansville’s east side, a job he continues to work as he receives treatment.

Thursday's lunch in the park will take place from 11AM until 1:30PM and will feature grilled pork or chicken shish kabobs, plus potatoes, prepared by Nikolai Kuzmenko, along with a drink for just $10. Proceeds from the picnic will go toward covering the costs of Detective Schroer's cancer treatments.

If you're not in the area Thursday, but would still like to help the cause, the Evansville Police Department Foundation has set up a website where you can make a donation to Detective Schroer anytime.
