Evansville Police Chief Makes Unusual Appeal on Facebook

Evansville police chief Billy Bolin turned to Facebook to ask the public to turn out at the sentencing hearing for a confessed child molester. Jack Perkins is scheduled to be sentenced this afternoon at 2:20 in Vanderburgh County Circuit Court.

In March, Perkins pleaded guilty but mentally ill to child molesting and criminal confinement. His attorney has asked for a minimum sentence.

This plea from the attorney prompted Bolin to pots on Facebook to get the public to fill the coatroom.

 This Thursday, May 30th, at 2:20pm, he will be sentenced in Circuit Court. Please consider coming out and helping us fill the courtroom and surrounding halls this Thursday. Your presence will let the court know that we will not tolerate this type of behavior in Evansville, IN.
