Evansville Police Arrest Man for Attempting to Pass Counterfeit Money at Local Strip Club
Earlier this week, Evansville police arrested a Chicago man at a local strip club after he allegedly attempted to exchange three counterfeit $20 bills for a stack of singles.
According to a report from the Evansville Police Department, Damien P. Parrish was arrested Wednesday night at the Lucky Lady on North Main Street after he tried to pass off some phony money as the real thing. Police say the manager of the club noticed that the bills were fake and immediately called police.
Authorities say that in addition to the three $20 bills Parrish unsuccessfully tried to pass, he also had four more counterfeit bills on him at the time of his arrest – four of the seven bills that were confiscated had the same serial number.
Parrish is facing a preliminary forgery charge, which is a felony offense. He is currently being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail.
