Reitz High School graduate, Lilly King punched her ticket to Rio de Janeiro as a member of the U.S. Olympic Swim Team with a dominating performance in the Women's 100 Meter Breaststroke Final at the Olympic Swimming Trials in Omaha, Nebraska Tuesday evening.

King advanced to the final after swimming the fastest time in Monday morning's preliminary with a 1:06.45, .07 seconds faster than second place finisher Katie Meili. She improved on that time by swimming a 1:05.94 Monday evening to place first in the semifinals, earning her the trip to the Tuesday's finals where she saved the best for last, beating Meili once again, this time by almost a full second, 1:05.20 to 1:06.07.

She'll have a day or so to enjoy the victory before jumping back into competition on Thursday where she'll compete for a spot in the Women's 200 Meter Breaststroke. Preliminaries are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Central Thursday with the Semifinal scheduled for approximately 6:45 p.m. that evening, and the Final set for Friday evening at approximately 6:45 p.m.

Congratulations Lilly! Now bring home the gold! We'll be cheering you on from home.
