Evansville Man Fights Cancer Without Insurance – Help Him Win the Battle
by: Jimmy (Big Boy) Croft
If you have ever been to Oxygen (Pulse) night club then I am sure you have met Josh Pate. He is the kind of guy that will talk to anyone, make them feel welcome, and I think is a good dude. He has been a great friend to me for well over a year now.
Josh is only 29-years-old and this week he found out he has cancer everywhere in his body. He is in Indy at Methodist Hospital where they discovered a tumor on his brain that is keeping the cerebral spinal fluid from flowing to the brain correctly. A drain tube has been inserted in his head to drain swelling off his brain. Currently Josh is not doing well, the cancer has already progressed through out his body. They are doing everything they can to treat him but without medical insurance the family worries that his chances for a positive outcome may be affected.
This Thursday at Spudz-N-Stuff on the west side there will be a Spud Day benefiting Josh Pate. Spudz-N-Stuff will donate $1 for every item sold. (Example: If you buy a Spud and a Philly Sub that’s 2 bucks donated.) The event will be going on from open to close at 5225 Pearl Drive on Evansville’s west side.

Josh is father to a 5-year-old little girl whom I know he loves very much. She suffers from Autism and needs her daddy. Donations are accepted at all Spudz-N-Stuff locations as well as the Apollo Liquor on St. Joe. You can also donate at any 5/3 Bank location under the name Josh Pate or mail in a donation to the Newburgh 5/3 Bank at 8422 Bell Oaks Drive Newburgh, IN 47630.
There will also be a benefit for Josh at Pulse Night Club formally Oxygen at 1000 North Park Dr. on Friday February 17th . They will have .50 beer, a silent auction and giveaways. There will be a $10 cover with 100% of that going to care for Josh.
