The Evansville Convention and Visitors Bureau will buy 96 acres of land at the southwest corner of the Goebel Soccer Complex to build a new baseball and softball complex. The sale price is $1.35 million, and the purchase will have to be approved by the Vanderburgh County Council.

This is the project that was originally discussed for the Roberts Stadium site.

The previous CVB board estimated that 8 ball fields would bring 100,000 visitors per year to Evansville.
