The Evansville Police Department, along with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Department will soon begin dispensing a new form of justice by "ticketing" local students for good behavior and making the right choices as part of their Choose Not to Lose Program's, "You've Been Ticketed" campaign.

Officers and deputies from both departments will work directly with schools within Evansville city limits, as well as those throughout Vanderburgh County, to identify students who display positive attitudes, good judgement, and keep their grades up, among other qualities, and "ticket" them as a reward for their behavior.

The ticket students receive will feature a coupon good for a free scoop of ice cream from G.D. Ritzy's, as well as one free kid and one free adult admission to any University of Evansville athletic event, courtesy of Vectren and Toyota Indiana.

The Choose Not to Lose youth outreach program was created as a joint venture between the EPD and Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office in the Spring of 2013 to stress the importance of making good decisions.
