Brazilian Indy car driver Ana Beatriz was not among the favorites to win Sunday's Indy 500, but she may wind up with the day's most interesting story. Prior to the start of the 97th running of the legendary race, Beatriz's boyfriend Daniel Sousa dropped to a knee on pit road and proposed to the driver. Beatriz responded, sort of:

"After the race I'll decide. But if I win, then yes."

Beatriz is running her fifth straight Indy 500 for Dale Coyne Racing. While Beatriz was up for the wedding if she won, she'd never finished better than 21st. That didn't bode well for Sousa.

Soooo, Beatriz drove 500 miles in a hot car at nearly 200 mph before making her decision. Most people are ready to commit murder after a few miles of bumper-to-bumper traffic on the expressway. Good luck, Sousa.

Since Beatriz will drive in a race every week during the Indy car season, the couple may want to register for marriage counseling sessions when they go to pick out their china pattern.
