Do You Have “Smarphone Pinky???”

Have you heard of 'smartphone pinky?'  Look at the pinky on the hand you use to hold your phone.  Does it look different than your other pinky? If so, you have fallen victim to the newest deformity floating around on the internet called "Smartphone Pinky"!

It's where your pinky looks dented because of the way you hold your phone.  So people have been sharing photos of their crooked, swollen, and curved pinky fingers... and it's all because we spend too much time on our phones!

It appears that even I have succumbed to this deformity as well as some of the other people in the studio...

Are you in any danger? Will your pinky fall off? Are you a mutant? No! There's a very, very small chance you've done any actual damage to your finger. So you can rest easy tonight!

The director of the New York Hand and Wrist Center says, quote, "It's no different than when you wear a sock with a tight elastic band and then you take it off.  There's a slight indentation for a brief period of time, but it corrects itself."
