DIY Natural Tick Repellent
The ticks are bad this year!! The bite of a tick can be fatal, depending on the kind of tick and how long the bite goes unnoticed. Try this natural solution will keep the ticks off of you, your kids and pets.
Grandma Morgan swore by this! Geranium Oil!!
Just mix half a spray bottle of water with a little apple cider vinegar and 15 or so drops of Geranium oil or Rose Geranium oil. (Grandmas don't use real measurements. :-) Spray on skin and clothes. The ticks hate it!!
Grandma Morgan also swore that the Geraniums she painted in her its and along the sidewalks kept the ticks away.
We found something similar on another website but they went a step further. You can make this solution out of similar ingredients.
In a small bowl, combine:
4 tablespoons of almond oil
2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel
30 drops of rose geranium essential oil
Mix thoroughly and siphon the mixture with an eye dropper. Apply three drops per localized area and massage into your skin. Using almond oil as a carrier enhances the solution’s effectiveness since ticks hate the sulfur in the oil.
