Forrest Sherer has partnered with Gorman Recruiting to fill a position for a Director of Business Development in Evansville, IN. The Director of Business Development position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive internal and external marketing plan that would increase revenues and profits. This position is expected to uphold the mission and values established by the organization, with a focus on networking, brand building, marketing and account management.

In 1920, Forrest Sherer founded Forrest Sherer Inc., which has become one Indiana’s largest independent insurance agencies. Forrest Sherer’s goal is not only to sell insurance. We use our resources to Protect Our Clients and to help them to grow and have their businesses prosper. We use our resources to provide the optimal solutions for our clients. Our staff of more than 60 insurance and business professionals will work with our clients to provide practical business solutions.

Primary responsibilities:

• Build relationships in the Greater Evansville Community.

• Identify business opportunities that match the abilities of Forrest Sherer, Inc. and its business partners.

• Be consultative in such a way that businesses will share with you their real issues and problems and allowing you to be a part of the process in developing solutions.

• Be able to bring our products and services and services of our business partners to businesses and individuals that have the need, willingness to buy, and the ability to pay for those services.

• Be able to serve as a business consultant and not just as insurance agent.

• Achieve assigned revenue targets through marketing and sales efforts to new clients.

• Map market and competition, analyze demand and supply, gaps in offerings, pricing strategies and selling prices and make appropriate recommendations to increase footprint both in terms of service offerings and customer base.

• Plan and implement appropriate programs for advertising and promotions especially organizing appropriate seminars / webinars with prospects which help translate them to clients. Attend appropriate market events to expand network / prospects.

• Establish a proactive client communication schedule and ensure client deliverables are conveyed on a regular and timely basis.

• Stay current with the latest developments, trends, regulations on the services that the company offers.

 Knowledge / Experience / Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 – 10 years of relevant experience within the Business Development or sales (insurance experience is not necessary.)

• Prior experience of working / partnering with a broad range of companies. Strong working knowledge of business, business to business sales, and problem solving.

• Knowledge and experience in a wide range of business, with an ability to see clearly the problem/issues.

• Be able to develop concise and saleable solutions to the problems and issues.

• Realizing that we may not always have the solution in house but utilization of business partners to address needs other than the normal Insurance and Risk Management needs.
