Deep Fried Kool-Aid Balls This Summer – Yum
First Lady Michelle Obama is out there promoting healthy eating which is something we need to pay more attention to. However, the boundries of unhealthy eating has expanded again with a new treat that is sure to be a big hit at County fairs this summer. Charlie Boghosian of San Diego, CA has created the first ever deep fried Kool-Aid Balls!! The batter is a mixture of Kool-Aid powder and flour which is then deep fried kind of like a donut hole. In the first weekend of the San Diego County Fair, Boghosian has received 400-600 five ball orders per day and has so far used 150 pounds of Kool-Aid powder and 1,500 pounds of flour to make more than 9000 balls. Maybe we will see this paired with the ‘Purple Cow’ at the Vanderburgh County Fair this summer or at the very least, would be a perfect addition to the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival.
