Deceased Husband Wins Valentine’s Day With Romantic Gesture From Beyond the Grave
For 46 years, Sue Johnston had a pretty good idea what she’d be getting on Valentine’s Day. Each February 14 her husband John would give her a bouquet of flowers with a note that read “My love for you grows.”
Sadly, John passed away two years ago in April. 10 months later, Johnston received Valentine’s Day flowers from somebody named John. At first she thought it was a cruel joke.
“I called the florist to say there had been a mistake,” Johnston explained. “The florist replied, ‘No, ma’am, it’s not a mistake. Before he passed away, your husband prepaid for many years and asked us to guarantee that you’d continue getting bouquets every Valentine’s Day.’ With my heart in my throat, I hung up the phone and read the attached card. It said, ‘My love for you is eternal.’”
With that John Johnston established himself as the champion of Valentine’s Day. Since we’re not sure his romantic gesture can be topped by somebody who is still alive we’re thinking most fellows are content to let John keep that title for a while.

Tri-State Gives Moore Mediathon Raises $26,000 For Red Cross

Wednesday from 6am-6pm, all the media outlets pooled their efforts to raise funds for victims of the Moore, OK tornado victims and with the help of Tri-State donors, we were able to raise $26,016 just in phone-in donations.
