Daddy Diaries – I Get It Now

Well here it is. Father's Day. A day I've worried about, fussed over, and even forgotten over the years. Funny thing is, no matter what I got for my Dad, he was always satisfied. As a matter of fact, he often did that "Dad thing" where he says he doesn't really want anything, but to spend time with me. I always thought that was just a line. Now that it's my first Father's Day, I get it. I understand that feeling now that the day is about me. This day isn't really about the gifts you buy, but that gift that is just BEING a dad. I have to say it feels pretty good knowing I have many years to be that to my little one and who knows who else. I get it, Dad, and I don't need anything either.
