I love to make lists. I make lists every day at work to make sure that I follow through on all of my tasks, I make lists of goals when cleaning the house (my husband dreads these days), and it is even rubbing off on my five year old daughter. A few weeks ago, a friend of mine, who has three little ones, posted a picture of her “Summertime Bucket List.” Being the list making maniac that I am, I loved the idea and immediately started composing my own bucket list with my little family.

We have had so much fun with it. We try to make sure that we accomplish something from the list every couple of days, if not every day. Being the cheap person that I am, we successfully compiled a list that lists realistic tasks on it that do not cost much, if anything. Because she helped me make it, she is very involved and excited when we complete a task, making this summer a memorable one; in turn, becoming priceless to us.

Here is our list, which I hope will help inspire you to create your own and share ideas with others:

Best Buddy 2014 Bucket List

  • Walk at the river
  • Camp in the living room
  • Family Slumber Party at Poppy and Meme’s
  • Go to the zoo
  • Have a weenie roast
  • Catch a frog (this is a fun one)
  • Picnic in the rain
  • Have a luau (You can find cheap luau stuff at Dollar Tree.)
  • Go on a day trip
  • Go on a hike
  • Go to St. Louis
  • Stay up until 11:00
  • Go to the drive in
  • Go to movies on the lawn
  • Meet baby Dylan (Her new cousin!)
  • Go to an arcade
  • Make jewelry
  • Swim at the apartment complex
  • Go on a flashlight walk
  • Get Orange Leaf
  • Go to GattiTown
  • Collect lightening bugs
  • Do a good deed
  • Swim in the dark
  • Go to CMOE
  • Get snow cones
  • Dress up pretty and go somewhere
  • Go fishing
  • Have an entire topsy-turvy day

We still have a month left and have already accomplished most of these, together. I hope to make this a tradition that we continue every year together. It has certainly been a wonderful bonding experience for the both of us.
