Josh Turner only needed one more win to get to the Country Whuppin' Hall of Fame, but he fell just short, as Jerrod Niemann now takes over as champion.  In his first defense, Jerrod takes on a young lady from Golden, Texas named Kacey Musgraves!

Champion - Jerrod Niemann "Only God Could Love You More"

Jerrod Niemann has proven over the last 3 years or so how different his brand of country is than everything else out there.  That's not really a bad thing, because he's had great success.  The first single off 'Free The Music' was 'Shinin' On Me' and sounded like something from a Beatles or Neil Diamond album.  This new single sounds like a hit from Christian radio.  does it work for you?  Vote and let us know.

Challenger - Kacey Musgraves "Merry Go 'Round"

Kasey Musgraves, at the young age of 24 is already a veteran of the music business, having written her first song at the age of 9.  Despite being from the Lone Star State, she lists some major influences as folks from closer to these neck of the woods like Loretta Lynn and John Prine.  You can certainly hear those influences in her debut single, and while it's not necessarily a sound like most modern country, it may just catch your fancy.  If so, vote now!
