Don't call it a comeback!  But boy was it!  Heidi Newfield returned to country music with a powerful new single that was enough to knock off current champions, Eden's Edge by 90% of the vote.  Heidi heads in as a first time champion today in the Country Whuppin' brought to you by Cleaver's Prime Sandwiches and Salads.  She takes on a new artist, Bill Gentry.

Champion - Heidi Newfield "Why'd You Have To Be So Good"

After her run with Trick Pony, it looked like Heidi Newfield was on her way to the top with her first solo single, "Johnny and June."  While that song was critically acclaimed, not much came from Heidi to follow, due to record label messes in Nashville.  Now Heidi is back with a song originally claimed by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, but when they let go of it, Heidi grabbed the song that spoke of her own life.  Will it win?  That vote is yours.

Challenger - Bill Gentry "That Kind Of Life"

Anywhere between mainstream country and Aretha Franklin-style soul, that's where you'll find Bill Gentry's music.  Not only is Bill a preacher's son, but a former politician and a club owner.  That's some kind of resume for this guy, who word has it, performs with the intensity close to Mark Miller of Sawyer Brown.  His debut single is called "That Kind Of Life."
