Country Classics Honoring the Military This Saturday on WKDQ

This weekend, we're honoring the military, the best way we know how, with country music! 

On WKDQ's country classics show this Saturday morning from 6-10A with Big Bill Love, he will be playing only country artists who have served in the military.  You'd be surprised how many country artists have served.  It's incredible! Country music isn't just patriotic in the lyrics, many country artists haven't just talked the talk, they've also walked the walk.  And we can't think of a better way to give our thanks, than by playing their music.

This weekend is Memorial Day weekend, and while hopefully you get to enjoy an extended weekend, and get to spend time with your friends, and loved ones, take a moment this weekend to reflect, and remember why we get to celebrate Memorial Day weekend.  We have the freedom to do so, thanks to the brave men and women who chose to sign that line, and put their lives on the line for us.  Many came home, many didn't, and to all of those who have served we wish to say thank you.

Memorial day is about remembering the fallen heroes, who without their sacrifice we wouldn't have the freedom we do.   A "thank you" hardly seems like enough.  So this weekend while enjoying time with your loved ones (and hopefully maybe an extra day off work!) take a few moments to reflect on all of the  brave heroes we've lost.
