Tonight, while you are logging into Facebook, checking Twitter and reading blogs from your favorite DJs, also be sure to log on to www.dcwg.org. This site will scan your computer for malware that if not cleaned up, will cause your computer to have no internet service tomorrow.
The problem began when international hackers ran an online advertising scam to take control of more than 570,000 infected computers around the world. When the FBI went in to take down the hackers late last year, agents realized that if they turned off the malicious servers being used to control the computers, all the victims would lose their Internet service. – Associated Press, News Day, New York
Even if you haven’t seen any problems with your computer, you should still log on to check your computer for the malware.
