GRAPES ON THE GRASS: MAY 20, 2016, 6:30-9:00pm:

Grapes on the Grass Soiree sponsored by ERA First Advantage Realty is Friday night, May 20th  the evening before The Wine Art & Jazz Festival.  Guests have an opportunity to taste favorite foods from local restaurants, view Newburgh art and judge the wines that will be available on Saturday.  It’s a beautiful evening on the banks of the Ohio River at the Old Lock & Dam Park. Tickets are $50.00 each, and are available at Historic Newburgh, Inc. at 517 North Main Street, Newburgh.

 

WINE, ART & JAZZ FESTIVAL: MAY 21, 2016, 12noon – 9:00pm

Historic Newburgh Wine, Art & Jazz Festival presented by Evansville Living Magazine & TRU Event Rental is Saturday May 21st, Noon – 9pm.   There is non-stop jazz, a wide selection of wines from Indiana vineyards, great food and an opportunity to browse and buy local art.  All of this is overlooking the beautiful Ohio River at the Old Lock & Dam Park. Tickets go on sale April 1st.  Cost: advance $15 individual & $25 couples, at door $20 individual & $30 couple. Ticket are available at www.historicnewburgh.org or by phone at 812-853-2815.

 

HISTORIC NEWBURGH FARMERS MARKET: SATURDAY’S May 28th  – Sept 24th

The Historic Newburgh Farmers Market will operate 8am – 12noon each Saturday morning in 2015 from May 28th – September24th.  Our farm market, located in the Edgewater Grill parking lot, is more of happening than just a market.  At the Newburgh Farmer’s Market you will find the very best seasonal produce complemented by products like honey, grass fed meats, dairy products, flowers, cheese, breads, and pastries.  There is also crafts, art, plants, flowers, & honey along with live music to complete the festival atmosphere. Free.  Special event weekends include: Kids Day and Dog Days of Summer.

 

NEWBURGH FIREWORKS RALLY: JUNE 4TH, 12noon – 2:00pm

Fireworks Rally: is Saturday, June 4th, at noon at Bell Oaks Schnucks.  The traditional fireworks buttons on sale -  it’s a party to kick off our Newburgh Celebrates Independence!  Proceeds from all the buttons go towards the Fireworks & Evening in the Park Event.  Buttons are $5.00 each.

 

NEWBURGH FIREWORKS CELEBRATION: JULY 2nd, 5:00 – 9:00pm

Alcoa 2016 Fireworks and Evening in the Park: is Saturday July 2nd.  At 5 pm the streets close and the games begin.  It is an old fashion summer social with food, games and music. What makes it special is the location at the Old Lock and Dam Park which is on the banks of the Ohio River. The Fireworks begin at 9 pm – it’s one of the most spectacular fireworks displays in area! Free

 

NEWBURGH COMMUNITY THEATRE: SEPT 30 and OCT 1st, 2nd,  

Historic Newburgh Theatre Series presents always funny and intriguing community theatre.  2016 will mark the 5th year of the Newburgh Theatre Series. Productions will be the Friday, Sept 30 at 7:30pm; Saturday, October 1 at 7:30pm and Sunday, October 2 at 2:00pm.  Purchase your ticket in advance at Historic Newburgh, Inc. by calling 812-853-2815. $15 per ticket

 

GHOST WALKS: OCTOBER 14TH, 15TH & 16TH

The annual Ghost Walks are an interesting walk through the streets of Historic Downtown Newburgh.  The tour guides share some of the spookier legends of Newburgh’s history.  Learn about the Civil War, Underground Railroad; as well as Newburgh river lore.  You will meet some of ghosts of the townspeople as they share stories from the past.  Tours are available Friday, October 14th from 6-9pm; Saturday, October 15th from 5-9pm & Sunday, October 16th from 5-8pm.  This event cost $5-$9- Advance tickets are suggested as tours fill quickly.

 

GHOSTLY STROLL WALKING PARADE: OCOTBER 22TH

At 2pm on October 29th, the streets will close and The Old Dam Band will lead the Walking Parade through town.  Children of all ages are encouraged to come in costume and participate in the costume contests along with other fun planned events & games.  Trick or Treat in Downtown Newburgh!  This is sponsored by many of the Downtown Merchants. Free

 

HISTORIC NEWBURGH CELEBRATES CHRISTMAS: DECEMBER 3TH & 4TH

Historic Newburgh Celebrates Christmas is the first full weekend in December.  You feel like you are participating in a free form street musical!  There are people in period costumes recreating Newburgh in the 1880s.  In addition, there are musicians, carolers, and chestnuts roasting on an open fire.  There will be Find the Elf Contest, and Photos with Santa.  The Historic Newburgh Museum will be open with its special Christmas Exhibit.  Free
