A Super Bowl party is a lot of pressure and some people might feel like everyone else is expecting YOU to throw the party. Who needs people spilling seven layer dip all over the carpet and couch, not bringing anything to drink as a simple courtesy or having to deal with that one guest that wants everybody to shut up during the game and the commercials?
January 30, 2013 My sons, and I am sure your kids too, are addicted to video games. They can spend hours sitting on their butts, staring at a screen, with their controller in hand - trying to beat the game and be totally content and happy. I just DON'T understand it. And I'm guessing that this grandpa couldn't understand it either...until he took control of the controller.
January 29, 2013 Because of a recent surge in gun violence, we are being - wait a minute - is it a recent surge? Or have we been dealing with mass shootings and killings since the gun was invented? Why is it that we are so scared now and gun sales are going though the roof? Why do individuals continue to go into public places and start shooting? Why are innocent people, including our children, being gunned down in an instant? I believe WE are to blame.
January 28, 2013 I just looked at my Twitter account, and realized that on June 12th of this year, I told JoAnna Smith, i wanted to be in one of her famous Road-isodes on her website. A lot of teasing and several months later, she has not only included me in her year-end Road-isode Randoms, but she put me in there 3 times.
January 28, 2013 The only part I enjoy about the Super Bowl, aside from the football pants, are the ads. Although completely overpriced, ( $3 million for 30 sec.) they are the most hilarious and creative ads we see all year. USA Today recently announced the 25 best Super Bowl ads of the past 24 years - I completely agree!
January 28, 2013 Today is National Kazoo Day! On this date back in 1840, in Macon, Georgia, The Kazoo was born. And for all those of us who never learned to play a musical instrument, we are rejoicing - because the Kazoo makes us feel like we are part of the band.
January 28, 2013 I have always tried to live life with a positive outlook. But I'm not going to lie - right now, I am having a very hard time doing that. It's like I just can't find the awesomeness inside me any more. I am questioning my choices and my worth almost daily. Sometimes though, just when you need it the most, the good Lord shows you the light inside yourself. Today, I saw it in the eyes of a child and heard it in his voice. Hopefully you will too. :-)
