If Your Dog and a Stranger Were About to Be Hit By a Bus, Who Would You Save?

The title is an interesting question and according to a new study, 40-percent of people would save their dog before the stranger. That number jumps to 46-percent for women. It seems like our empathy and compassion for each other is at an all-time low in today's world. What does that say about us and our society, that a human life is less valuable than that of an animal or pet?

Should Scooters Be Subject to the Same Laws for Licensing, Insurance and Registration as Other Motorized Vehicles?

Is Flashing Your Headlights to Warn Other Drivers of a Speed Trap Illegal or Freedom of Speech?

Speed traps - we have all seen them and law enforcement does use them as a means to get people to slow down, especially in particularly dangerous areas where speeding is a problem. Some will also argue they are simply a revenue generator for a given city, county or state. The question is, if you warn other drivers about an approaching speed trap by flashing your lights, are you violating the law or exercising your First Amendment rights?

Cool Camera Shows What Being Eaten By a Shark Might Look Like

During the family vacation last summer, my son Evan had a very close encounter with a shark. It was a small shark that would not have done much, if any damage, but scary nonetheless. Thanks to Hollywood we sort of know what being eaten by a shark looks like, but the below video uses an actual camera to show us what it REALLY looks like.

Motorcyclist Takes Full Coffee Mug From The Rear Bumper of a Moving Vehicle

I have been riding motorcycles for more than 30 years and I have seen a lot of goofy things going on with other drivers. I have seen doors left open, briefcases left on the roof of the car and I will usually try and get the driver's attention, but without getting too close and without putting myself and everybody else at risk.

Watch a 16-Month-Old Baby Swim Across a Pool Better Than You and I

Today is my first day back from a family vacation in St. Augustine, Florida. We spent a lot of time at the resort pool and during one frightening moment, my two-year-old nephew, Max, ran back into the pool after his water wings were removed, which caused three of us to jump up and run to the pool and grab him. Very scary, crisis averted. A lot of children will be in the pool over the 4th of July holiday.

A New Law Would Allow Police to Search Your Cell Phone Following a Crash

This is so weird, just yesterday I witnessed a little fender bender in downtown Evansville involving a driver who lightly rear-ended another vehicle. The National Security Agency Has Been Granted the Right to Collect Phone Records for Millions of Verizon Customers

I first read this story this morning and became extremely alarmed because I am a Verizon customer. On April 25, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) authorized the FBI and the Federal Government to obtain the phone records of millions, if not all Verizon customers for a three-month period ending on July 19. Am I just being paranoid or does that sound really, really scary?

The NTSB Wants to Lower the Blood Alcohol Level for Drunk Driving

The National Transportation Safety Board has recommended that states lower the blood alcohol level for drunk driving to .05% from .08%. The NTSB believes at least 1,000 lives could be saved each year if this plan were to be adopted. It would be up to the individual states to pass such legislation. Currently, all 50 states have .08 as the standard by which a driver is considered impaired and subject to arrest.
