Would a Government Passed Smoking Ban in Duplexes and Apartments Be Going Too Far?

Evansville's smoking ban in bars and restaurants, coupled with casino Aztar's exemption from the ban is an ongoing controversy. It seems that smoking bans are extending further and further and could be extending to your homes, thanks to a new ban in California that prohibits smoking in condominiums, duplexes, apartments and other multi-family homes.

The guys at Bad Lip Reading have done it again and just when you think it couldn't get any better. Is It Time for Roberts Stadium to Be Torn Down?

Here we go again: another Roberts Stadium issue. This time, the Evansville City Council has denied Mayor Winnecke's request to transfer proceeds from the Roberts Stadium auction to the demolition fund thus, delaying the demolition yet again. The time has come to resolve this issue one way or the other and leave partisan politics out of this.

What Do The Children Think About The Presidential Election [Video]

Thanks to the first of three presidential debates earlier this week, everyone is talking about the upcoming election and there are no shortages of opinions about what this election means. You have an opinion and I have an opinion about this election, but what about the ones who really matter.....the children? What would happen if we took to the streets and asked the kids about this election....who they like or don't like and why?

Mitt Romney Attack Ad Spoof Targets Iconic PBS Figure Over the Economy [Video]

Last night was round one in the Obama / Romney presidential debates and Romney is said to have won the night. One thing is for sure, these debates probably will not answer any lingering questions you may have about either candidate and I wouldn't look for any type of bombshell revelation in the remaining two debates. The only way anything 'big' would come out of this would be if one of them makes a major mistake or misstep.

Should Pets Be Required to Wear Seat Belts When Riding In the Car [Poll]

Every Thursday Leslie and I feature a Vanderburgh Humane Society 'pet of the week' and talk about some of the issues related to having pets. One issue that is really staring to pick up steam is the issue of seat belts for pets. Over the weekend, we drove up to Hanover to visit our son and brought our VHS adopted pug, Bruce Wayne with us. He was all over the car on the ride up and my wife actually said we should belt him in to keep him still.

Are Father-Daughter Dances and Mother-Son Baseball Games Gender Discrimination? Rhode Island Says Yes

Father-daughter dances and mother-son baseball games have been banned in Cranston, Rhode Island schools much to the dismay of students, parents and even the city's mayor. Super Sized Sodas and Sugary Drinks Banned in New York City

A few months back, I wrote an article about a proposed ban on super-sized sodas and sugary drinks in New York City that you can read here. NYC officials felt they had to do something about the growing, (no pun intended), obesity problem in that city and around the country as a whole. As you can imagine, there was a tremendous amount of backlash aimed at the proposal by drink manufacturers, restaurants, stadiums and many other businesses that sell large beverages. Earlier today, the proposed ban was passed.
