Police are reporting that between 5 and 15 people are dead and 160 were injured after an explosion at a fertilizer plant in West, TX, just outside of Waco.
Firefighters were putting out a blaze at the plant when the explosion occurred at around 8PM
I am sitting here trying to make sense of the events of the last 24 hours and just like 9/11, I am struggling to understand, as are most of us. During the 'Elite 8' game between Louisville and Duke, Louisville guard Kevin Ware, was on the defense, jumped to block a shot, landed on his leg, and suffered a COMPOUND fracture. Yes, that's when the bone comes THROUGH the skin. OUCH!!!
Last month, the U.S. Postal Service announced it would end Saturday delivery of first class mail in an effort to save $2 billion annually. The Postal Service lost about $16 billion last year, but on Thursday Congress passed legislation requiring six-day delivery, which is not what the Postal Service wanted to see.
I pride myself on the kind hearts of my children. While raising them, I ALWAYS tried to instill a sense of empathy toward others. I am happy to say they are all very giving and nonjudgmental individuals. I really want them to have a 'What would Jesus do?' mentality. In our world today, it's hard to teach that kind of love. But, that's not going to stop me. And, it shouldn't stop you either.
