After a conversation with a close friend from Nashville, I was informed of their desire to seek out and help some of the aspiring talent right here in the Tri-State. If this applies to you, I have some questions that might help us help you get started in the music business.
All over the Tri-State, students spend 6 to 10 weeks preparing for ONE weekend. They spend those weeks learning blocking, lines, character development, sometimes music; building sets, gathering props, making costumes, setting light cues, utilizing sound equipment and selling tickets. Through these tasks they are learning skills that are invaluable, skills that many of them will not learn in the class room. Countless hours are put in to meet a deadline. Unlike sports teams that have an entire season to try and perfect their game, students of theatre have one weekend, one chance to give you a winning performance.
On our show this morning, we were so happy to see our friends Keith Burns and Michelle Poe. The duo Burns and Poe will be performing at Casino Aztar TONIGHT and SATURDAY! Two performances each night 8pm and 10pm.
I just gotta say, they are two of the BEST people you could ever meet and equally as talented. We had so much fun! If you missed the interview, here it is......
Luke Bryan just released a new LP 'Spring Break...Here to Party.' It contains two new songs - the party starting 'Just a Sip' and the party ender 'Buzzkill.' Both songs are GREAT!!! He recently visited his good buddy, Ellen Degeneres and gave a super hot performance that was anything BUT a buzzkill. In fact, I was buzzing when it was over! ;-)
Miranda Lambert has really come out of her shell. When I met her about three years ago, she was very shy, granted it was backstage and she turned it on when she hit the stage. I just have noticed that she has a new sense of confidence in her videos. I know, her earlier videos had her using gunpowder and lead as a crazy ex girlfriend, but something is different now. I think she knows who she is and is confident in her talent and abilities. It helps that she looks AWESOME and knows she does!! LOVE IT!!
James Wesley has touched a nerve in a good way here in the Tri-State with his new single, 'Thank A Farmer'. He ran away with the win this week on the Country Whuppin' and now moves on to face a new break-up song from The Band Perry!
Country music's two most famous Georges are both embarking on their farewell tours in 2013. George Strait is off and running with his final 'Cowboy Rides Away' tour and George Jones is getting ready for his farewell tour that will stop in Evansville on March 23rd at The Centre.
After nearly 800 votes were cast, the slight edge goes to new champions, Blackberry Smoke, who took out Tate Stevens! The guys move on to face a new tune saluting farmers from James Wesley.
His story truly inspired the world. And, late last year, when Lane Goodwin's "Thumbs Up" craze spread like wildfire through the digital landscape, I think every single person who heard his story was inspired. I know that I was. And I decided that Lane was the perfect inspiration for this year's original St. Jude song.
Tate Stevens is looking for his third straight win on the Country Whuppin' after taking out Randy Houser. His debut single, 'Power Of A Love Song' goes into battle today against country/southern rockers Blackberry Smoke!
Any fans of R&B singer-songwriter Seal out there? Yes, the ex-Mr. Heidi Klum. Either way, you'll enjoy this one.
