Being Left Handed is Something to be Proud of – I Am, But It Took Me Awhile to Get There

Yesterday, August 13th, was International Left-Handers Day, which may not seem like a big deal, especially for right-handers, but for left-handers, it's a day to be thankful for who we are. Being left-handed certainly has its challenges because we live in a predominately right-handed world. Spiral notebooks and a computer mouse were not designed with left-handers in mind.

How Old Are Your Ears?

It's a running joke with my family that I am QUICKLY loosing my hearing. I guess it's because I spend a lot of time, doing my job, in headphones. Then when I'm working out, I use earphones. I figured out that I spend a considerable amount of time, each day, damaging my ears. YOU do it to. Our kids will loose their hearing in their twenties from using headphones and earphones so much. They are also going to go blind from reading very small lettered text messages!! But, for right now, let's focus on our hearing.

Dad Fools Daughter Into Eating Vegetables

Only ONE of my kids liked to eat veggies. My daughter is that rare breed of kid that passed on cupcakes and candy for her kindergarten birthday party and instead opted for carrots, ranch dressing and cheese crackers. Remarkably, she actually had a lot of friends. LOL

My son's were, and still are, a different story. I tried everything to get them to eat a vegetable. But, I forgot about trying THIS!

Bubble Wrap Bike is the Bomb

Bubble wrap is probably one of the most underrated items in society. We just moved and used a ton of bubble wrap for dishes and breakables, but bubble wrap is great for practical jokes, which in turn, can be a big stress reliever. Watch a Girl Teach Herself How to Dance

As a toddler, I always tried to wow and amaze my family and their friends with my AWESOME dance skills. If I was in another room and I heard the 'Hawaii 5-0' theme song, I would quickly get my special outfit on (a little nightgown with fringe that would shake when I danced LOL) and run into the living room to shake my tail feather. If, I wasn't as old as dirt, I would show you the video. But video wasn't invented until MUCH later. :-)

At five years old, my mom enrolled me in dance classes. And, I continued dance until I was 20 and later choreographed musicals. As you can see, dancing has always played a HUGE role in my life. And, I can tell you, it ain't easy. It takes a a lot of practice and dedication. Even if you have to teach yourself, like this girl...

Watch a 16-Month-Old Baby Swim Across a Pool Better Than You and I

Today is my first day back from a family vacation in St. Augustine, Florida. We spent a lot of time at the resort pool and during one frightening moment, my two-year-old nephew, Max, ran back into the pool after his water wings were removed, which caused three of us to jump up and run to the pool and grab him. Very scary, crisis averted. A lot of children will be in the pool over the 4th of July holiday.
