Hunter is 7-years-old and is a professional sand castle builder in California. You certainly don't hear much about pro sand castle builders, but Hunter's passion goes way beyond sand castles. Hunter is also a big time advocate for clean water and makes a very strong case.
Evansville police officer Nathan Schroer is the very definition of a public servant. Schroer is an 11-year veteran of the EPD and when he is not keeping the streets safe, he is a Pastor at Northwoods Church. Schroer recently received some devastating news, he has been diagnosed with leukemia for the second time.
CVS Pharmacy is requiring all employees to submit their weight, body fat, cholesterol and other vitals if they use the company's health plan. If they refuse to submit the information, they will be charged an additional $50 per month for their insurance. On one hand, with rising health insurance costs, I can understand why they want this, but on the other hand, it's very scary and brings up many privacy issues.
Amy is a 26-year-old mom who has been deaf since birth. Amy has never heard her own voice, let alone the voice of her parents or her six-year-old son, Blake. Thanks to some new technology, that is about to change for Amy.
An incredibly brave and gutsy gesture has cost a British grandfather his job. Paul Marshallsea wrestled a shark away from some children while vacationing on a beach in Australia. It wasn't the heroic act that got him fired, it was why he was there in the first place
I don't know about you, but my body is NOT ready for a bathing suit. Every Fall, I tell myself I have all Winter to get in shape and that by the time warm weather is here I will look smoking hot. It never happens. I'm actually really hard on myself when summer comes and I look like a pasty, flabby, middle aged housewife. Self loathing sets in and I pout while I hide my body under a cover up. But not this guy! He has no problem with the way he looks. I wish I was more like him; actually, he is my HERO! This guy takes 'dancing like no one is watching' to a WHOLE other level!:-)
Over the weekend, a very disturbing and troubling news story broke in Bakersfield, California involving a nurse who refused to give CPR to a dying woman. Rarely do you find something that is good AND good for you - or, something that will help you that you will want more of and it won't make you gain weight. The 'Your Man Reminder' app is just such a thing. I know it sounds like an anti-cheating app perhaps but NO, it's about something much more important.
Martin Tremblay was a youth hockey coach in British Columbia seven months ago, and he is now going to jail for intentionally tripping two opposing players, aged 10 and 13, during the postgame handshake. One of the boys actually broke his wrists trying to break the fall. At the time, Tremblay was arrested and charged for his actions, but the other day, Tremblay received a 15-day jail sentence.
I just returned from vacation after spending all last week in Charleston, South Carolina. My wife and I go there every year and one thing we always try and do is try something new. Anybody who knows me or listens to me and Leslie on the air know that 'new' can be kind of scary for me - but I did something I swore I would never do.
When a child is diagnosed with Cancer, the entire family has rally around that child to help them with strength and support. And even though the parents are their comfort and shelter from the storm the are going through, their siblings are often times their smiles, laughter and hope.
