This Daylight Savings Time change BS is killing me. I'm completely out of it today. While getting dressed yesterday morning, I put my shirt on backward and didn't figure it out until about noon. I'm a mess! Maybe all I need is a good wake up call - something to get me right up and out of bed - like a few of these wake up methods. HAHA
Every Thursday, Kendal Paul from the Vanderburgh Humane Society brings a pet to the studio that is ready for adoption and looking for a forever family. Today, she brought a cute, 2-year-old rabbit named 'Buttons.'
Sadly, on Friday, actress Bonnie Franklin passed away after her battle with pancreatic cancer - she was 69. Bonnie is probably best remembered for playing 'Ann Romano' on the CBS sitcom 'One Day at a Time.' The show was a huge part of my childhood. My mom, like Ann, had red hair, I wanted to look just like Valerie Bertinelli and the story took place in Indiana. It was also my first glimpse of a woman who was divorced. (I know...crazy, but true) Little did I know, that someday, I would be just like her.
I am a member of Sam's Club. Quenton and I are addicted to the enormous packages of toilet paper and paper towels. Don't laugh, I know you are too! (LOL) Another thing I really like is the every other month magazine they send to their members called, 'Healthy Living Made Simple.' On the cover this month, Carrie Underwood. Inside, Carrie revealed her reason for not eating beef and I immediately thought of a story from my childhood.

Ever since I can remember, we danced at my house. My mom would step touch, step touch to the radio while keeping the beat by making a sound with her lips a tongue and snap her fingers. I know now why she put me in dance lessons at the age of five - she wanted me to have better mom dance moves. But after becoming a mom myself, I realize that all moms have the SAME moves. ;-)
Earlier today, my daughter Emily e-mailed me a copy of an assignment she did for school. The assignment was to write a paper about looking through their lives and assign a song that best describes certain parts of their life. I was very surprised at what she wrote and extremely touched.

Today is our final day of the 2013 3rd Annual St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Radiothon. Many on our staff have traveled to St. Jude to see and experience the love, caring and magic that is St. Jude.
The hospital, located in Memphis TN is the result of Danny Thomas making a promise. As a struggling young actor, Danny prayed to the Patron Saint of Lost Causes - St. Jude. He promised that if the saint would take care of him and his family, he would build a shrine in his honor. The shrine would be a hospital for needy children, where they would be cared for regardless of race, religion or ability to pay, where no suffering child would EVER be turned away. Now, Danny's children continue to keep that promise.
When a child is diagnosed with Cancer, the entire family has rally around that child to help them with strength and support. And even though the parents are their comfort and shelter from the storm the are going through, their siblings are often times their smiles, laughter and hope.
