A busy stretch of Buena Vista Road will be closed to Evansville drivers until further notice as road crews begin work in the area.

According to the City of Evansville's official Twitter account, The road will be closed from the intersection of First Avenue up to the Third Avenue behind Target. If you live on the north side, or frequent that area of town to do some shopping, you know this closure will cause a bit of a headache as it provides access to the side entrances of both Target, Schnuck's, the Circle K convenient store on the corner of First and Buena Vista, as well as Showplace Cinemas North at Third and Buena Vista. Fortunately, all three have other entrances off First Avenue so there are other ways to get there, however I'm not sure how Evansville Teacher's Federal Credit Union customers will access the bank's branch on Buena Vista during construction.

The purpose of the construction is not made clear in the City's tweet below, nor was exactly how long the closure is expected to be.
