Clearly hoping to cash in on the hype surrounding TLC's 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,' MTV has given its 'Jersey Shore' time-slot to a new show about a bunch of rowdy, under-educated backwoods teenagers from West Virginia. Watch the promo right here!

Seeing this, it's hard to believe that MTV broke ground in reality programming two decades ago with 'The Real World' (a show which seems downright highbrow in retrospect). Now the network finds itself behind the curve, even in the odious field of encouraging people to take pride in their own ignorance and recklessness. But hey, America will surely get some fun new catch-phrases out of it, so it's all good, right?
