Brad Paisley Gave Taylor Swift Her Worst Nickname Ever
Taylor Swift has plenty of nicknames (like T-Swizzle, Swifty, Tay Tay and T-Swift, just to name a few). And while the pop-country superstar doesn’t seem to mind most of the endearing terms that her fans and friends create for her, one nickname — which was given by none other than former tourmate Brad Paisley — did earn the distinction of worst nickname ever for the 22-year-old.
“When I was on the Brad Paisley tour, they called me Tater Tot,” Swift told Time.
Of course, Paisley well-known for playing pranks on his tourmates while on the road, so it’s no surprise Swift was on the receiving end of one of his classic practical jokes. But the ‘name calling’ didn’t stop there.
“And the name on my dressing room was changed to Tater Swift every single day!” Swift explained. “It was like being teased by your big brother.”
The ‘Begin Again’ singer is part of a long line of artists who’ve been pranked by Paisley. Blake Shelton, for instance, had a rotten chicken hidden in his tour bus by the ‘Water’ singer. Paisley lined the stage stage with caution tape and orange cones after Scotty McCreery fell off of it the night before, and prior to one of Kellie Pickler‘s performances, Paisley and his team played a video titled ‘You Be the Judge,’ which included several heavily photoshopped images of her. Later, he got the Band Perry when he had someone photoshop a portrait of the trio and hand copies out to fans in an autograph line.
Paisley may be the king of tour pranks, but we wouldn’t mind seeing Swift play a few hijinks of her own during her next stint on the road, the Red Tour. Plus, the successful young songwriter has her own way with words — we’re certain she could come up with a hilarious nickname for Paisley.
